Fall

Autumn in the Unitas

September

September is a magical month. It is entirely possible that September can change from Summer to Fall overnight.

The mountain autumn leaf display has been known to start as early as September 1st or as late as October 15th.

Labor Day weekend is normally a good weather weekend.

The first Friday and Saturday in September, the nearby Francis Town hosts "The Francis Frontier Days". Included in the festivities is a small home-town parade, Trail Horse Competition, kids competitions, Barrel racing and a "Bull Wars" rodeo. see https://francisutah.org. for current schedules or call 435 783-6236.

Also nearby "The Midway Swiss Days" coincides with this weekend a large outdoor craft fair, parade and 10 K run. See https://www.gohebervalley.org.

The second or 3rd weekend in September our little town of Woodland hosts a "The Woodland Chokecherry Festival" featuring a 5 K run, children's fun run, festival boutique, hay maize, and a horse trail ride which begins at Noblett's Creek. see Facebook "The Woodland Chokecherry Festival"

October

The deer and elk hunt begins in earnest in October.

We share a busy road on Friday nights with many weekend hunters seeking to get to their campsites by dusk. see https://wildlife.utah.gov

The second week in October, nearby Heber Valley hosts "The Cowboy poetry Gathering". Music and poetry performers, food vendors and art exhibit booths provide cowboy/cowgirl fun for all ages.

By Halloween the snow and cold temperatures have usually set in for the winter.

November

November, aside from the Thanksgiving week, is normally the slowest time of the year for reservations at The Woodland Farmhouse Inn.

This is a good time to prepare for the upcoming holiday season.

Reservations for activities like "The North Pole Express" at the Heber Valley Railroad begin in November. See hebervalleyrr.org

Look over events that happen in December to make sure you make arrangements and buy tickets in advance, in November, for December activities.
