Spring

Springtime in the Unitas

March

The snow is beginning to melt but March can also have the largest snowfall amounts of the season. The snowmobile tour companies are still in operation and generally there is still enough snow to snowshoe to some very untouched places.

April

The weather is getting better but still very unsettled. We usually have a summer teaser for 10-14 days, where we finally see the dormant grass poking through, followed by a reality check of stormy weather for 10-14 days. The skiing and snowmobiling has pretty much shut down for the season. It's still too early for fishing the upper lakes because of poor road access.

We are beginning to use the 3 season porch for breakfast service but it is still too cold to be out on the open porch.

Birthday celebrations, wedding anniversaries and quiet get-aways still take place as usual.

May

May features plenty of beautiful blossoms in the numerous flower beds around the property and, late in the month, a wonderful frog serenade in the pond.

The Upper Provo River high water river roar can be heard, especially when the sun goes down, as it runs through Woodland at full force.

May is usually not a very busy month at the Inn.

Memorial Day happens at the end of the month and then we are off to the races!
