Summertime in the Unitas

June

The first part of June is Flower Season at the Inn. There are numerous flower beds that are in the gardens and duck pond areas. Birdwatching is great as the little fledglings are starting to fly.

Mid-June the hiking and fishing are starting up and trails are usually available, if the snow has been cleared of snow from Wolf Creek pass on Highway 35 and Mirror Lake Scenic Byway have been plowed.

JULY is the month of local parades, rodeos, and demolition derbies. Beginning with the 4th of July celebration in Oakley, Utah (approximately 10 miles away) See https://www.oakleycity.com for the current calendar.

Utah Pioneer Day Celebration is celebrated on the weekend closest to July 24th It begins with a small town parade and town celebration with kid's bounce houses and food vendors. See https://kamascityut.gov.

Our Inn is down the road to the back entrance of the Soapstone Recreation Area. This is a double-edged sword because our Friday night traffic increases dramatically as trucks and campers head to the mountains for the backroads of Soapstone, the Duchesne Ridge and Mill Hollow Reservoir.

There are local rental companies that rent all terrain vehicles/ATV's and Utility terrain Vehicles/ UTV's (side-by-sides) if you have a trailer hitch on your vehicle. See https://wellerrec.com to check prices.
